And to think it was gay-acting basketball kids that brought us together. In all seriousness, I'm really glad we met this year, and I hope your passion for anything never dies. <3 I enjoy talking to you Mami SO I HOPE I GET TO CONTINUE TO DO SO NEXT YEAR via tumblr+twitter+skype/wherever else you reside on the internet. Please continue to nurse midotaka bunnies and angst until you're tired of them.
Better luck with taking that Japanese course next year! :) All the best for 2013, let's keep in touch even if RL gets too busy, and stupid time timezones continue to exist.
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
♥,

Wow you're getting older, you just turned 20. I know you don't feel like it and really when have you ever felt your age? Well except maybe when you turned 18, that was a shitty birthday but I do remember I could sign up for all those shit that required you to be 18. That was fun.
I'm sure people will say that your 19th year has gone, just like your younger years like 18 and 15 and 10 but it's not true. Sure 20 is here, and your front isn't the teen years anymore but that doesn't mean they're gone. Those years, they're never gone. Their still with you. Always will be. And I want you to remember that even as you grow older and you get new responsibilities. It's never wrong to have fun like a kid, it's never wrong to spend a day watching cartoons or in PJs, it's never wrong to be both an adult and a kid because people that say that it's wrong? Those people rarely have fun. They're uptight and scary and I don't want you being like them. I know pressure to be an 'adult' will be even bigger now that you're 20. You'll have to respond the way society expects you and to be honest, it'll be easier if you do but then that's been our life all this time. We learned to be flexible, to adapt to what people around us want. Just remember that sometimes it's good to take a stand somewhere, it's good to be the mountain instead of the bamboo once in a while.
And remember that you are you. You're not a simple one-sided thing, you're human and you're complex and multi-faceted. You can be this animanga fangirl, you can be 'normal', you can be sociable, you can bury yourself in pillows or pretend to be a blanket burrito and that's all part of you. You don't have to be just one thing.
Practice writing or drawing, get better, have fun. That's what's important. Have fun with life because nothing else is worth it if you don't have fun. Find people you like, talk to them, hang out with them. It doesn't matter if not everyone likes you. Making everyone like you is a pain, just be polite, the people that will like you are the people that will matter.
And that's all for the inspiring letter from one year younger self.
P.S. LEARN JAPANESE. MAKE NINI WRITE YOU OTP FIC. COSPLAY TAKAO. LEARN HOW TO COLOR SERIOUSLY(you'll feel better about it). Also get a new mattress, your old one is really hurting my back. DON'T FORGET TO KEEP IN TOUCH WITH PEOPLE.
